finally! finally had dinner at home today. for the past 8 days, I've been so busy that i didn't have time to dine at home. The last time when I had dinner in home was actually last Monday. Tues work, Wednesday outdoor, Thursday work, Friday outdoor, Sat outdoor, Sunday outdoor, Mon outdoor.

School today is good. Stayed back in school to finish project but I didn't finish. ): But it was fun doing the project. I had such a good time laughing in class, because Fazlee and Din continue the facebook "In loving memories of Satieswarenth" saga, in one of Din's comment, he wrote that Satish is our Mandingo. I didn't know who Mandingo is actually so Fazlee asked me to google it and..

This really made me laugh so hard. so hard that, I laughed every time when i thought of it. I actually laughed when i was walking to the bus stop, and several times on bus. thanks god no one gave me that -.- look ha ha ha ha.

2nd day of Fleatique is not so bad, wasn't as good as yesterday's event. ): the crowd is better than yesterday, but.. the age of the crowd is older too.. so my sis took the worst hit compared to me.

Flea-Tique Day 1

Took this photo when there's not so many people at Flea-tique SAM 8Q. The whole event lasts from 6pm to 2am, but my family decided to leave early because by 1am the crowd has more or less disperse already so we see no point staying.

At the beginning, the crowd and sales was pathetic. this is normal actually. The last two times started off this way too. But as times goes by, we get more and more busier. I find this time round so much more busier.

There's a lot of times when my mum, sis and me couldn't cope with the crowd, like having to take new stocks for my customer when another customer wanted to bargain the price.
3 friends getting the same design & colour skirt, bargaining with me when another customer is paying for quite a lot of items and requires mental sum (which i usually throw to my mother who's awesome at mental sum. $44.90 + $23.80 isn't a problem to her) and new stocks. So i have to put the bargaining on hold and get new stocks for her, then hurry switch to bargaining again.

so busy we couldn't have an extra pair of eyes to make sure no one steal from our clothes rack, but anyway, we didn't lose anything. But I love busy moments like that! Because it makes times go faster and my pocket fatter :D

tomorrow's the event's still on. :)

I thought I should (and I did) suntan my 50mm f1.8II lens together with Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 lens even though my 50mm lens are not infected by fungus yet. It always pay to be safe than sorry.

I hope the fungus will be baked and cooked by the coming weekend. HOPE.

Macro lens

Tried converting my 50mm f1.8 into a cheap macro lens by reverse mounting it. (Attach front of lens to body instead of back of lens to body)

successful I must say, but I doubt I will be doing it that often because the dust collected during shooting is not to be neglected (if i did it outdoor). And I think the dreamy blur effect is I didn't use a reverse ring? well well well.

other than that, Keroro is so damn cute!
ha ha ha ha.

Thursday

I totally regretted for being late for class today. ):

Catherine came to my class to give a talk for her food drive campaign and because I was late, i totally missed the speech by her. ):

at 9am when I was still sleeping, Catherine called to ask where is LT59 (where my lesson was supposed to be at but Mr Yeo decided to cancel it). I actually suspected it has something to do with the food drive she told me just last week but I dismissed that thought immediately because it sounds so impossible.

then at 1pm when i was at Clementi Bus Stop waiting for bus, she called me and and told me she's in my class. Seriously, that surprised me! She made me so excited during my whole bus journey, but still.. I only reached the classroom after she finished the whole talk. ):

WISP

I can't help but laugh when i saw the two images after entering "racist" into the google search bar for my WISP project.

I self-declared my own holiday today again!
and I started my day by going swimming! hahaha, extremely random i know. I just woke up and felt like going for a swim and so i went swimming! it's been years since I last swim. other than that, I've spent my afternoon watching Smallville (it's getting extremely exciting at Season 6), baking my sigma lens under the scorching sun and doing my WISP research.

I hate doing the WISP research. okay, no research is fun. ):

Canon Mark 5D II thumbdrive

1/2 hour ago, I squeaked.

Because Dave show me the above thumb-drive in the form of EOS Mark 5D II with lens 24-105mm F4. yes, it is a thumb-drive. click to view it's like 1/8 of my EOS450D and it's extremely unique and i wish it was mine. ): but it's way so expensive i couldn't bear to splurge on it.

other than that, I'm bored in class right now because I've finished everything for my part so far already (I need penknife and planning for the next step) and I have absolutely nothing to do right now other than reading blogs and facebook-ing. Thanks god at times my classmates will make some funny comments and jokes and make my time in class not so bored.

Hachiko a dog's story

This is extremely touching. I actually teared when the professor died and Hachi waited for him by the train station, day after day for 9 years, from running to the station to walking slowly to the station in the later years when he was getting older.

I teared the most when the dog was going to die. It was winter and that night, he had the urge to walk to the train station. So he got back to the spot where he always stood at and then he lied down on the floor and had these flashbacks of the days he had with the professor and then finally the train station's door opened and the professor walked out from the station, Hachi was very excited and ran up to his owner. Yup, the dog had died when he saw his owner.

I'm not going to watch again until a few years later. My heart still hurt whenever I think of the movie. This movie is extremely heart wrenching.

KTV at Beauty World

after finishing the buffet, one of my cousins Wei Ting went home while the remaining 4 of us decided to try out the KTV at Beauty World which is $8 per room per hour (equivalent to $2/person per hour).

Despite my school being extremely near to Beauty World, I've never heard of this KTV before. hahaha, mountain turtle ah me! it was located in the basement of the shopping mall and it's actually an arcade. If it wasn't recommended by Wei Siong, I doubt I would actually want to step in because it looks like it will be infested by baddies ha ha ha.

Steamboat Buffet

I found a job!! hahaha, as in, seriously, I've found a job! today was my first day at work. I'm working as sales executive (yet again) but this is my virgin's working experience in a video center. The pay is $5 per hour and meals are included, I can borrow the videos for free (this is extremely worth for me because I've only watch Smallville up till season 5 and NP only have it up till Season 5!) Working there is pretty stress because most of the customers there are foreigners and they speaks English with a extremely strong accent that I couldn't catch most of the time. ): other than the communication part, I'm fine with how things work there. :D

oh oh oh oh! and because I didn't had dinner there, I chose to have Island Creamery Ice Cream. It is awesome! I used "is" because it's still awesome. :D hmm~ if you get what i mean.

After work ended, I took a straight bus to the shophouses opposite Beauty World and met my cousins there for steamboat buffet. Initially, we wanted to dine in Crystal Jade at Holland V but it was fully booked by Wednesday so in the end, we changed to this steamboat restaurant.

New Blogskin!

I've decided to revamp my blog after I discovered Blogger's new template. The new template is really cool, there's are lots of backgrounds to choose from, and I'm happy with the layout of my blog and I have the "Older Post" and "Newer Post" link!

not to mention, the "Read More" button!



Okay, I've decided to have a tutorial to remind/teach myself how to make the same banner in the future when I lose/forgotten the banner!

1st: Selecting a image.

I picked this image which I took at Terminal 3 last Tuesday. :D
I used the magnetic lasso (L) with feather: 40px and select the part which i want.

Next I cut and paste into a new image (CTRL+N)
image is 1000px by 500px.



Step 2:
I went to Filter -->Artistic ---> Cutout



Step 3:
Googled the photo I want and paste it into Photoshop. I've used the Quick Selection Tool (W) to select the part I want first.



Step 4:
then I right click --> select inverse, and press delete to remove the unwanted parts.



Step 4:

I went to Filter -->Artistic ---> Dry Bush.



Step 5:

I made the opacity of the camera cap at 60% so it's partially translucent. :D



Step 6:

I wrote some very random paragraph and then drag it (see the black box) to make sure that it does not overlap my image.



Step 7:

I've tried to make the background much more colourful, so I select a new layer and use Brush to paint my background.



Step 8:
I've made the opacity cap at 30% and drag it just right below the text I've created.



Step 9:
Wrote my name on it.
